U.S. on-highway diesel fuel average price for the week of 05/15/17 is $2.544.
This price is just over 2 cents per gallon lower than it was the previous week. Every region in the country was less than it was the previous week. The Gulf Coast Region was the lowest at $2.382, with California remaining the most expensive at $2.902.

Amazon, the e-commerce giant, will hire more than 30,000 part-time workers over the next year to staff its growing network of warehouses. About 5000 of the jobs will be at-home customer service reps. Amazon had nearly 350,000 full and part-time workers at the end of 2016. That number was up 48% from the previous year.

The bridge that collapsed on a section of Interstate 85 near Atlanta has an estimated price tag of $16.5 million to rebuild. The Georgia Department of Transportation has set a June 15 deadline for its completion. The federal government is expected to pay for 90% of the costs. The bridge was set afire March 30 by a homeless man. The blaze was so intense that it melted steel and concrete.

2 cents from the previous week. Not only is the average down, it was down in every region
of the country. This is the first time in months that this has happened. The highest price
continues to be in California ( $2.927 ), and the lowest remains in the Gulf Coast Region
( $2.410 ). Hopefully, this trend will continue.

Werner Enterprises presented a check for $10,000 to the Nebraska State Patrol Foundation for the purchase of a police service dog. The dog will aid in detecting controlled substances, locating lost or missing persons, and apprehending suspects. Derek Leathers, CEO of Werner, said “It is an honor to partner with local law enforcement to secure a safer community.”
