Diesel Fuel Prices Decline

The national average diesel fuel price dropped three cents this week to $3.89 per gallon according to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update published by the EIA.  Both the East Coast and Midwest prices declined by three cents from last week as well to $3.98 per gallon and $3.84 per gallon respectively.  The average diesel fuel price in the Rocky Mountain region also fell three cents from last week, making the new average price $3.91 per gallon.  Declining two cents from last week, the West Coast’s average diesel fuel price is now $3.99 per gallon.  The Gulf Coast price only decreased by a penny, but at $3.77 per gallon is the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation.

Diesel Fuel Update

The national average diesel fuel price decreased one cent from last week to $3.92 per gallon according to the EIA’s Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update.  The only region that did not have a price decrease from last week was the West Coast where the average diesel fuel price increased by less than a penny to remain at $4.03 per gallon.  The Midwest had the largest price decrease this week, declining two cents to $3.88 per gallon.  Both the Rocky Mountain and Gulf Coast’s average diesel fuel prices declined by one cent from last week to $3.94 per gallon and $3.78 per gallon respectively.  The East Coast’s average diesel fuel price also decreased by one cent, but at $4.02 per gallon remains the second highest price in the nation.

Increase in Diesel Fuel Prices

Diesel fuel prices are up across the nation according to the EIA’s weekly Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update.  The national average diesel fuel price is up two cents from last week to $3.97 per gallon.  The West Coast had the biggest increase jumping five cents from last week to $4.03 per gallon.  Both the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions had a three cent increase making the average price per gallon of diesel fuel $3.82 on the Gulf Coast and $3.97 in the Rocky Mountain region.  Only increasing once cent from last week, the average diesel fuel price for the Midwest is $3.94 per gallon.  Although the average diesel fuel price on the East Coast did not increase this week, the region continues to have the highest price in the nation at $4.07 per gallon.
