Diesel Prices Decrease

According to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration, diesel prices fell for the tenth time in the last 11 weeks.  The average price per gallon dropped 0.5 cents to $3.918 per gallon for the week of December 31, 2012.  Compared to last year, the average price per gallon is up 13.5 cents.

EIA is calling for diesel prices to average $3.97 per gallon in 2012, and $3.84 in 2013 in their short-term energy outlook.

Diesel Prices Decrease

According to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration, diesel prices fell for the tenth time in the last 11 weeks.  The average price per gallon dropped 0.5 cents to $3.918 per gallon for the week of December 31, 2012.  Compared to last year, the average price per gallon is up 13.5 cents.

EIA is calling for diesel prices to average $3.97 per gallon in 2012, and $3.84 in 2013 in their short-term energy outlook.

EIA Diesel Fuel: December 12

According to the EIA report released December 12, 2012 the national average diesel fuel price dropped four cents to $3.99 per gallon, ten cents higher than last year at this time. 

All regions of the nation have shown a price decrease with the largest being on the West Coast where prices declined six cents to $4.04 per gallon. The Rocky Mountain region’s prices dropped five cents for an average of $3.94 per gallon.  Both the East Coast and Gulf Coast showed a three cent price drop making the East Coast average $4.07 per gallon, and the Gulf Coast $3.87 per gallon.

According to the EIA report released December 12, 2012 the national average diesel fuel price dropped four cents to $3.99 per gallon, ten cents higher than last year at this time.

In a report released December 3rd by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration the average price per gallon of diesel fuel fell 0.7 cents to $4.027 this week.  Compared to last year the average price per gallon is up 9.6 cents.  In its recent short-term energy outlook the EIA is forcasting diesel prices to average $3.96 per gallon in 2012 and $3.73 in 2013.
