Employee Spotlight: Jared

Jared GrandyJared Grandy joined DALKO in September 2010 as an LTL dispatcher, and recently was promoted to Account Manager.  Jared was born and raised in Sharpsville.  After high school he attended Butler Community Collage to become an EMT, then CCAC Pittsburgh to be a paramedic.  Before joining his family at DALKO Jared worked full-time as a paramedic at a local ambulance company.  Now that he’s at DALKO he still continues to be a part-time paramedic, and teaches emergency medicine (CPR, AED, EMT and paramedic classes).

In addition Jared volunteers at the Sharpsville Volunteer Fire Department and helps out with the Sharpsville midget football, little league baseball, and booster club.  Even with all these activities he finds time to root for his favorite sports teams (Steelers, Notre Dame, Penguins, and Pirates) and join his family for their annual vacation to Walt Disney World.

When asked what his favorite saying was he quoted his father, Lenny Grandy, “If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse”.  This value given to him by his father is what drives Jared to achieve his goal to continue to grow as a person and in turn to help the DALKO company grow.
