Diesel Fuel Update…….Released by the United States Energy Information Administration(Week beginning 02/21/2017)

U.S. $2.572 ….Up .007. Every area of the country showed a slight increase except the Midwest Region that was down by 0.005.  The prices at the pump were: East Coast-$2.626, New England-$2.668, Central Atlantic-$2.765, Lower Atlantic-$2.519. Midwest-$2.487, Gulf Coast-$2.424, Rocky Mountains-$2.522, West Coast-$2.869, and California-$2.957.

Diesel Fuel Update

For the seventh week straight the national average diesel fuel price declined.  The EIA reported that the national average diesel fuel price declined one cent from last week to $3.83 per gallon.  The West Coast’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel declined less than a penny to remain at $4.02 per gallon.  Both the East Coast and Rocky Mountain regions had a one cent decrease to $3.88 per gallon and $3.87 per gallon respectively.  The Midwest’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel also declined by a penny from last week to $3.78 per gallon.  At $3.74 per gallon, the Gulf Coast currently has the lowest average price for diesel fuel.

Declining Diesel Fuel Prices

The EIA reported the national average diesel fuel price declined by a penny from last week to $3.86 per gallon, six cents lower than the same date last year.  The Gulf Coast continues to have the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation at $3.77 per gallon.  The average price per gallon of diesel full in the Midwest declined by one cent from last week to $3.80 per gallon.  Decreasing less than a penny the Rocky Mountain’s average diesel fuel price is still $3.89 per gallon.  The average diesel fuel price on the East Coast declined two cents from last week to $3.91 per gallon.  At $4.03 per gallon, the average diesel fuel price on the West Coast is the highest in the nation.

Declining Diesel Fuel Prices

The EIA reported the national average diesel fuel price declined by a penny from last week to $3.86 per gallon, six cents lower than the same date last year.  The Gulf Coast continues to have the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation at $3.77 per gallon.  The average price per gallon of diesel full in the Midwest declined by one cent from last week to $3.80 per gallon.  Decreasing less than a penny the Rocky Mountain’s average diesel fuel price is still $3.89 per gallon.  The average diesel fuel price on the East Coast declined two cents from last week to $3.91 per gallon.  At $4.03 per gallon, the average diesel fuel price on the West Coast is the highest in the nation.

According to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update from the EIA the national average diesel fuel price declined two cents from last week to $3.89 per gallon.  The West Coast’s average price also declined by two cents, but the region has the highest average cost in the nation at $4.05 per gallon.  Both the East Coast and Midwest’s average diesel fuel prices decreased by two cents to $3.96 per gallon and $3.84 per gallon respectively.  Declining by one cent the Rocky Mountain’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel is not at $3.90.  The region with the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation is the Gulf Coast at $3.79 per gallon, one penny lower than last week.
