The Association of American Railroads’ rail traffic summary released March 7, 2013 reported that both U.S. carload and intermodal volume were up for the week ending March 2, 2013 compared with the same week last year. Drop In Diesel Fuel Prices
In the analysis released March 6, 2013 the EIA reported the national average diesel fuel price decreased three cents to $4.13 per gallon, four cents higher than last year at this time. Average diesel fuel prices decreased in all regions of the nation. The largest decrease was in the Midwest where the price fell four cents to $4.09 per gallon. The East Coast’s average price per gallon dropped three cents to $4.17 per gallon. Both the Gulf Coast and West Coast prices declined two cents. The Gulf Coast average price per gallon is $4.07, and the West Coast price is $4.28 per gallon. Down just a penny, the Rocky Mountain price is $4.05 per gallon.
