Carload & Intermodal Vol. Down

According to the Association of American Railroads report posted January 3, 2013 both U.S. fright carload traffic and U.S. intermodal volume declined for the week of December 29, 2012.

U.S. freight carload traffic dropped 13.8% compared to the same week in 2011.  U.S. intermodal traffic also decline 14%.  For the 52 weeks in 2012, AAR reported that U.S. freight carload traffic dropped 3.1% compared to 2011.
