Diesel Up for 2nd Week

For the second consecutive week the national average diesel fuel price increased two cents to $3.67 per gallon according to the EIA report, seven cents lower than last year at this time.  Both the Gulf Coast and West Coast prices increased by four cents to $3.78 per gallon on the Gulf Coast and $4.01 per gallon on the West Coast.  The Midwest and Rocky Mountain prices both increase three cents from last week.  The Midwest’s average price per gallon is $3.93 per gallon and the Rocky Mountain is at $3.85 per gallon.  Up a penny, the East Coast price is now $3.87 per gallon.

The week in petroleum analysis released by the EIA May 15, 2013 reported that the national average diesel fuel price increased two cents to $3.87 per gallon, 14 cents lower than last year at this time.  Prices in all regions of the nation increased, with the largest increase on the West Coast.  The average price per gallon on the West Coast rose five cents to $3.97 per gallon.  The Midwest price increased four cents to $3.91.  The Rocky Mountain price is $3.97 per gallon, two cents higher than last week. Both the Gulf Coast and East Coast prices increased less then a penny to $3.87 on the East Coast and $3.74 on the Gulf Coast.

The national average diesel fuel price fell four cents to $3.85 per gallon, 22 cents lower than last year at this time according to the analysis released May 1, 2013 by the EIA.  The Gulf Coast had the largest price decrease, where the average price dropped five cents to $3.76 per gallon.  Prices went down by four cents in three of the five regions; the West Coast average price is now $3.95 per gallon, the East Coast is $3.89 per gallon, and the Rocky Mountain price is $3.81 per gallon.  The Midwest price decreased three cents to $3.84 per gallon.

For the second consecutive week prices in all regions of the nation declined, with the largest decrease on the West Coast where prices dropped eight cents to $3.99 per gallon.  The average diesel fuel price in the Midwest is $3.87 per gallon, down six cents from last week.  Both the East and Gulf Coast prices fell five cents to $3.92 per gallon on the East Coast and $3.80 per gallon on the Gulf Coast.  The Rock Mountain price is $3.85 per gallon, down four cents from last week.
