Increase in Rail Traffic

In the Weekly Rail Traffic report the AAR reported U.S. carload volume for the week ending July 12, 2014 was up 4.8 percent compared to last year, and intermodal volume was up 3.2 percent.  Total U.s. rail traffic for the week was up 4 percent compared to the same week last year.

Diesel Prices Decline For The Third Week

According to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update from the EIA the national average diesel fuel price declined two cents from last week to $3.89 per gallon.  The West Coast’s average price also declined by two cents, but the region has the highest average cost in the nation at $4.05 per gallon.  Both the East Coast and Midwest’s average diesel fuel prices decreased by two cents to $3.96 per gallon and $3.84 per gallon respectively.  Declining by one cent the Rocky Mountain’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel is not at $3.90.  The region with the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation is the Gulf Coast at $3.79 per gallon, one penny lower than last week.

According to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update from the EIA the national average diesel fuel price declined two cents from last week to $3.89 per gallon.  The West Coast’s average price also declined by two cents, but the region has the highest average cost in the nation at $4.05 per gallon.  Both the East Coast and Midwest’s average diesel fuel prices decreased by two cents to $3.96 per gallon and $3.84 per gallon respectively.  Declining by one cent the Rocky Mountain’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel is not at $3.90.  The region with the lowest average diesel fuel price in the nation is the Gulf Coast at $3.79 per gallon, one penny lower than last week.
