Recently DAT released an article entitled “2013 in the Rear-View Mirror: Slow Growth Postpones Capacity Woes“, which gave a snapshot of some of the trucking industry numbers as well as summarizing some of the main factors that affected the industry in 2013.

Diesel Fuel: December 16th

The national average diesel fuel price decreased one cent from last week to $3.87 per gallon according to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update released by the EIA.  Both the Rocky Mountain and East Coast diesel fuel prices increased by less than a penny to remain at $3.85 per gallon and $3.91 per gallon, respectively.  Declining one cent, the Gulf Coast’s average diesel fuel price is now $3.76.   Also declining by only one cent from last week the West Coast’s average diesel fuel price is now at $3.98 per gallon.  The largest diesel fuel price decrease was in the Midwest where the average price per gallon went down two cents to $3.85 per gallon.

Diesel Fuel: December 16th

The national average diesel fuel price decreased one cent from last week to $3.87 per gallon according to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update released by the EIA.  Both the Rocky Mountain and East Coast diesel fuel prices increased by less than a penny to remain at $3.85 per gallon and $3.91 per gallon, respectively.  Declining one cent, the Gulf Coast’s average diesel fuel price is now $3.76.   Also declining by only one cent from last week the West Coast’s average diesel fuel price is now at $3.98 per gallon.  The largest diesel fuel price decrease was in the Midwest where the average price per gallon went down two cents to $3.85 per gallon.

The national average diesel fuel price decreased less than a penny to remain at $3.88 per gallon for the week of December 9, 2013 according to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update released by the EIA.  All regions of the nation had a one cent decrease from last week except the East Coast where the average diesel fuel price increased less than one cent, remaining at $3.91 per gallon.  The Gulf Coast currently has the lowest average diesel fuel price of $3.77 per gallon.  The average price per gallon of diesel fuel in the Rocky Mountain region is now at $3.85 per gallon after a one cent decrease.  The Midwest’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel went down to $3.87 per gallon, and the West Coast price is now at $3.99 per gallon.

Diesel Fuel Update

The national average diesel fuel price decreased one cent from last week to $3.82 per gallon according to the EIA’s Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update for the week of November 18, 2013.  The West Coast region had a two cent decrease, making the average price per gallon of diesel fuel $3.95.  Both the East Coast and Gulf Coast prices decreased by a penny to $3.84 per gallon and $3.74 per gallon respectively.  Decreasing less than a penny the average diesel fuel price in the Midwest remained at $3.80 per gallon.  The price in the Rocky Mountain region also remained the same as last week at $3.84 per gallon.

Diesel Fuel Update

The national average diesel fuel price decreased one cent from last week to $3.82 per gallon according to the EIA’s Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update for the week of November 18, 2013.  The West Coast region had a two cent decrease, making the average price per gallon of diesel fuel $3.95.  Both the East Coast and Gulf Coast prices decreased by a penny to $3.84 per gallon and $3.74 per gallon respectively.  Decreasing less than a penny the average diesel fuel price in the Midwest remained at $3.80 per gallon.  The price in the Rocky Mountain region also remained the same as last week at $3.84 per gallon.

The national diesel fuel price dropped three cents from last week to $3.83 per gallon according to the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update released by the EIA November 12, 2013.  Diesel fuel prices declined all across the nation with the largest decrease on the West Coast where the average price per gallon fell four cents to $3.97 per gallon.  Decreasing three cents from last week the Midwest’s average price per gallon of diesel fuel in now $3.80.  The East Coast, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions all had a two cent price decrease to $3.86 per gallon, $3.75 per gallon and $3.84 per gallon respectively.

Decrease in Diesel Fuel Prices

The EIA reported that the national average diesel fuel price price decreased one penny from last week to $3.86 per gallon in the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update released November 4, 2013.  The update also reported that there were price decreases in all regions of the nation with the largest on the West Coast where it decline two cents to $4.02 per gallon.  The average price per gallon of diesel fuel in the remaining regions, East Coast, Midwest, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain, all decreased by one cent from last week.  The Gulf Coast currently has the lowest average diesel fuel price at $3.77 per gallon.  The average price per gallon of diesel fuel in the Midwest is $3.83.  In the Rocky Mountain the price declined to $3.86 per gallon, and on the East Coast the average price per gallon of diesel fuel in now $3.88.
