Because of illness as an infant, Helen Keller was deprived of sight, hearing and the ability to speak. Through the
patient teaching of Ann Sullivan, Helen Keller not only learned read, write and speak, but she went on to
graduate from Radcliffe College in 1904. She went on to author several books and articles, and was one of the
founding staff to form the American Foundation for the Blind. She also lectured in more than 25 countries.
Her tremendous accomplishments stand as a symbol of the potential in all of us!
