Even though the price is nearly 25 cents more than it was a year ago, the downward trend is encouraging. As, has been the case, the highest price is in California ($2.912), and the lowest remains in the Gulf Coast Region ($2.384).

This price is just over 2 cents per gallon lower than it was the previous week. Every region in the country was less than it was the previous week. The Gulf Coast Region was the lowest at $2.382, with California remaining the most expensive at $2.902.

The lowest price was in the Gulf Coast Region at $2.446. The highest was in the West Coast Region ( California ) at $2.935. The experts believe that this trend will continue throughout the summer.

The highest price in the nation was in California at $2.923 per gallon. The lowest was in the Gulf Coast region with a price of $2.414 per gallon.
