Diesel Fuel: Feb. 27

The analysis released Feb. 27, 2013 by the EIA reported that the national average diesel price increased less than a penny to remain at $4.16 per gallon, 11 cents higher than last year at this time.  The East Coast price also increased by less than a penny to remain at $4.20 per gallon, while the West Coast price decreased by less than a penny to remain at $4.30 per gallon.  The average price in the Midwest went down one cent to $4.12 per gallon.  The Gulf Coast price is $4.09 per gallon, two cents higher than last week.  The Rocky Mountain price rose three cents to $4.06 per gallon.

For the fifth straight week the national average diesel fuel price increased according to the analysis released by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration Feb. 21, 2013.  The national average price jumped five cents to $4.16 per gallon.  This is 20 cents higher than last year at this time, and tops the previous recent high of $4.12 from the week of Oct. 22, 2012. Fuel Prices Increase Again

According to the report released Feb. 13, 2013 by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the national average diesel fuel price increased eight cents to $4.10 per gallon, 16 cents high than last year at this time.  This is the highest price at this time of year since the EIA began collecting retail price data. Diesel Fuel: Jan. 30

According to the report released today by the U.S. Energy Information Administration diesel fuel prices have been on a general decline since October.  However, diesel prices in the first four weeks of 2013 have been higher than those in 2012.  The EIA anticipate diesel prices to continue to decrease through 2013.  EIA forecasts that the average diesel price will remain around $3.93 per gallon through February then will slowly decline throughout the rest of the year, reaching $3.80 per gallon by the end of the year. Diesel: Jan. 15

According to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration report for the week of January 15, 2013 the average price per gallon of diesel was down 1.7 cents to $3.894 per gallon.  This is the seventh straight week diesel prices have fallen.  Compared to last year at this time the average price per gallon is up 4 cents.
